A Personal Letter From Sev
I know what it feels like to believe you are capable of more while still questioning whether you can build the career and life you want. When I began freelancing, I carried that same uncertainty. But what changed my life wasn’t simply learning another tool.
It was learning how to think differently.
Recently, I’m a little upset that Relay.app, one of my favorite automation platforms, is shutting down. It’s sad to see it go, but it reminded me of an important lesson:
Don’t build your career around a tool.
Build it around a skill.
As freelancers, we don’t get paid because we know how to use one app. We get paid because we know how to solve problems.
Over time, I learned how to understand real business problems, build solutions around them, communicate their value, and trust that the skills I was developing could open doors I once thought were out of reach.
That journey took time. It required practice, courage, humility, and the willingness to keep building—even when progress felt slow.
And now, I want you to know this:
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
I created System Builders to give you the structure, guidance, feedback, and community I wish I had when I was finding my own way.
